Lake Walking in the Salzkammergut - Independent
Salzkammergut, the land of towering mountains and emerald green lakes, is a true haven for avid walkers, coupling outstanding walking with swimming pleasures! Salzkammergut is a region of glaciated lakes and craggy peaks, straddling the border between the provinces of Salzburg and Upper Austria. The lofty peaks and the glacier-carved troughs that separate them make for some spectacular scenery—and for some truly outstanding walking terrain! The fine landscape is criss crossed by a stunning network of perfectly sign-posted walking trails. Over 1,200 kilometers of pleasant tracks wait to be explored by enthusiastic walkers in the lovely Salzkammergut Lake District, all of which are waymarked and cross-referenced to detailed maps
