Bath, recognised as one of the world's most beautiful cities, is one of only four European cities to be designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site - the others being Florence, Venice and Strasbourg. Bath's Georgian terraces, crowned by the magnificent Royal Circus and Royal Crescent, climb dramatically up the hillsides while the historic centre, where the Roman baths and ancient abbey still stand, is in a splendid location by the River Avon. The city is being reborn as a spa town, with the old baths set to reopened, as well as new ones featuring a rooftop pool. Don't forget this is where Jane Austen lived! During this self guided walking weekend, you will spend two nights in Bath, which has plenty to offer in the way of shops, restaurants and entertainment. We tell you how to undertake a wonderful walk on the surrounding hills, with memorable views across the city's magnificent skyline. On the third day, walk to Bradford-on-Avon, a Bath in miniature, with its famous bridge, complete Saxon chapel and handsome architecture.
