You will see many prosperous, busy villages of terra-cotta and thatched-roof houses, but your constant companions will also be the soaring peaks of Annapurna. At the charming settlement of Ghandrung, Annapurna South and Hiunchuli tower almost overhead. A sunrise visit to Poon Hill will reveal the Magnificent Annapurna Himal and the sacred 'Fishtail' Machapuchare in all their glory. Even first-timers will enjoy this trek, as the highest point is Poon Hill at 3,232m. You are sure to enjoy the laidback atmosphere of 'Lakeside' Pokhara as well.
Ghorepani (2530m) is the ultimate destination of Annapurna foothill trekkers. It used to be main pass through which traders with Mules, from Mustang and Tibet, used to reach Pokhara. The early morning sunrise over Dhaulagiri and Annapurna from Pun hill is famous. And the panoramic view of the Annapurna range on the way to Ghandrung village unforgettable. .

Day 1: Drive to Nayapul. Trek to Tirkhedhunga(2080m) - 5 hours
It is a 1 hour drive from Pokhara to Nayapul (1100m) situated on the Modi River. Excellent views of waterfalls and you start meeting local people along the trail. The trail ascends to Tirkhedhunga. Day 2: Trek to Ghorepani (3194m) - 4 hours
The trail continues to climb up on a stone staircase through wet temperate forests of Oak and rhododendron until Ghorepani. Ghorepani is on of the most popular village along Annapurna circuit. Many trekkers who do not trek the whole circuit visit Ghorepani to view a magnificent panorama of the Himalaya peaks. Most of the inhabitants in this village are magars. Day 3: Trek to Tadapani (2595m)- 5 hrs
Visit Poon Hill (3100m) early next morning (about 1 hour walk) where you can have excellent views of Machapuchre, Annapurnas, Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri Himal. During spring you also see Rhododendron flowers at their best. The red variety is called Lali Gurans, and is the national flower of Nepal. From Ghorepani you leave the main trail that leads you to Jomsom/Muktinath, and walk to Tadapani. Villages and tea house dot the trail. Day 4: Ghandrung (1940m) - 3 hours
Trek to Ghandrung. Some parts of the trail are slippery during December and January due to snow condition. Decend to Ghandrung. Ghandrung is a large Gurung village located above Modi Khola (river). This village also offers excellent views of Annapapurna South, Gangapurna (7455m). Annapurna III (7555m), and Machapuchre (Fishtail). Camp in terraced fields. Day 5: Dhampus (1770m) - 6 hours
From Ghandrung it is a steep descent following a stone staircase down to the Modi Khola river and then a climb of about 1000ft to Landrung. The trail then ascends very gradually through meadows to Tolka. From Tolka the trail climbs up to a pass and then descends very gradually to Pothana . From Pothana it is about 1 hour walk down to Dhampus. Day 6: Phedi / Pokhara - 2 hours
From Dhampus there is a steep descent through farms to the flat valley. Around 2 hours easy walk and you will reach the road that leads to Pokhara. Drive to Pokhara = 1 hour.
