Vienna to Budapest - Independent Cycling

This tour leads you to three famous cities on the Danube: Vienna, Bratislava and Budapest. Your route passes wide-open plains and small villages giving an insight into Hungarian life away from the tourist tracks. You cycle through idyllic meadows below imposing castles and through small farming villages. In the tree-covered hills of the “Gerecse“ mountains there are some uphill stretches and in the village of Szentendre you will find many artist’s.

Category A: comfortable rooms in hotels and inns of the 3 and 4 star category, mostly the best house in town.
Category B: comfortable rooms in good inns and pensions of the middle category - in Vienna and Budapest Category

Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays from April until the beginning of October.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Vienna Day 02: Vienna to Petronell/Bad Deutsch-Altenburg - 45km Day 03: Petronell/Bad Deutsch-Altenburg (past Bratislava) to Mosonmagyaróvár /Halaszi - 60km. Can make at extra night here and stay in Bratislava- ask for cost.
Day 04: Mosonmagyaróvár/Halaszi to Györ - 45km Day 05: Györ to Tata - 60km
Day 06: Tata to Esztergom/surroundings - 55km Day 07: Esztergom/surroundings to Budapest - 58km Day 8: End of cycle trip.
