Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Souillac - Don't miss a visit to the 7th century Benedictine Monastery built by St Eloi and its magnificent abbey. Day 2: Souillac to Rocamadour: along the Ouysse Valley Rocamadour used to be a famous destinations for Christian pilgrimage. Fabulous panoramic views offered by the Belvederes. - 29km
Day 3:
Rocamadour to Gourdon: stroll through forest and hills at the Nature reserve called "The Causse du Quercy". P ossibility to visit the charming little church "Notre Dame des Neiges" before reaching the medieval city of Gourdon. - 33km
Day 4:
Gourdon to La Roque Gageac: After the Cougnac grottos, ride along the Dordogne Valley. Discover a wide range of castles and fortified towns as well as the stunning village of Domme. Stop in La Roque Gageac, old river harbour pressed up against the cliff. - 34km Day 5: La Roque Gageac to Les Eyzies: ride along the meandering Dordogne river to the Château de Beynac perched on the cliff face, or the typical village of Limeuil. It is possible to visit the Proumeyssac chasm, one of the deepest of Europe. - 57km Day 6: Les Eyzies to Sarlat: From Les Eyzies, a Mecca of prehistoric times, ride along the Vézère Valley known as the "vallée de l'homme". At Montignac , visit the well known Lascaux grottos. Then discover Sarlat a charming medieval town. - 52km Day 7: Sarlat to Souillac: along the banks of the Dordogne river overlooked by the Chateaux of Veyrignac and Fenelon. - 40km Day 8: End of tour in Souillac
