Lake Baikal Western Shore - Escorted Cycling
Lake Baikal lies only seventy kilometres from the Siberian city of Irkutsk and holds a fifth of the world’s fresh water. You are driven by 4WD vehicle (such as used in Russian army) to Aya Bay, where you start cycling. You then take the ferry across the channel to Olkhon island. Here you will experience the magnificent beauty of the Lake. You will see the lifestyle of the native Buryat people and admire the famous Olkhon sunsets. Olkhon island has the best terrain and roads for mountain biking in the area. After two days on the island you travel back to the mainland and continue cycling up north. On the morning of the last day of the tour you are driven back to Irkutsk.
